Come learn the art of weaving from Award winning Master Navajo Weaver, Lynda Teller Pete, originally from the Two Grey Hills.
Lynda has taught Navajo Weaving for over 20 years. While instructing and demonstrating, Lynda will share personal stories and experiences, providing intimate insight into her family’s 7 Generations of Navajo weaving. Lynda will be assisted by her husband, Belvin. Belvin has expert knowledge of the loom workings and the tools used.
-This class is for Beginning & Intermediate Students
-All supplies, looms, tools and yarns provided. Sample designs are available.
-Looms are Pre-Warped and measure 8.5” wide X 10.5” high.
-Class will be held at the Taos Wools classroom in Arroyo Seco.
-Class hours are 9am till 4pm with one hour break for lunch.
-Students will be using a worsted weight yarn for weft.
-There will be extra pre-warped rugs, looms, weaving tools and wool available for sale during class.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Students must be able to perform intricate and intensive work. Students have to be healthy, have good finger dexterity, no back or neck issues and can sit for six hours.
Cancellation Policy: 100% refund if student cancels 3 months before class date. In the event of cancellation within three months of the class date, partial store credit or class date transfer will be applied with no refund of initial payment. In the event of cancellation within three weeks of class date there will be no refund or credit/transfer.
