Yarns in Bloom!

Every skein of natural (not dyed) yarn that I send out to customers have been hand "Bloomed" by me!

This means I have either washed (submersed in water for a few minutes) or have lightly sprayed with water. By doing this it allows the scales of the wool to open up or "bloom".

There is a dramatic difference in natural yarns fresh from the mill compared to ones that have been bloomed.  The luster of the yarn become amplified and the thickness of the gauge is sometimes affected.

Some yarn businesses may or may not bloom their yarns.  It may be beneficial for you to know if they are before you start a project!
